George W. Wilkerson, 60, of Hewitt, died early Satuday morning in a local hospital following only a short illness.  Funeral arrangements will not be made until out of state relatives arrive.  Compton will be in charge.

Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his widow and six sons, J. L., Edgar, Ray and George Wilkerson of Hewitt; Dewey and W. L. Wilkerson of Georgia; four daughters, Mesdames C. G. Lefevers of Mount Calm, Pauline Popham, Grace Jones and Millie Burkhalter of Georgia, and 25 grandchildren.

Mr. Wilkerson came to Hewitt 30 years ago from Georgia.
