Everett L. (Ebb) White, a retired employee of the Waco Police Department, died Monday at a local nursing home.

He was 79.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Bill Moody officiating.  Burial will be at China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. White was born Jan. 19, 1911 in Erath and attended school in China Spring.  He married Mattie Goldman on Dec. 22, 1931; she died April 14, 1983.

He worked for the Waco Police Department for 25 years, retiring in 1967.

He was a member of Herring Avenue Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Billie White Hood of Arlington; a sister, Edna Miles of Waco; a brother, Roy White of Fort Worth; and four grandsons.
