Homer R. Wharton, 68, of Oklahoma City, husband of former Wacoan, Mrs. Louise McLennan Wharton, died Thursday in his office in Oklahoma City.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Nichols Hill United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. The body will be at Connally-Compton West from 8 a.m. until 12 noon Sunday. Masonic graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at China Spring Cemetery.
Mr. Wharton was born in Antioch, OK. He was a member of the Nichols Hill United Methodist Church and member of the Masonic Lodge, Karem Shrine and the Royal Order of Jesters. He served in the Army during World War II, and was working as an independent drilling contractor and oil producer.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise McLennan Wharton; one daughter, Mrs. Jean Ann Ponsor of Toledo, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Homer Hays of Pampa and Mildred Pruner of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; and two nieces and nephews.
