Wayne Alvin Wells, 83, of China Spring, passed away, Sunday, May 20th at his residence.
Graveside services will be 10AM Thursday, May 24th at China Spring Cemetery with Rev. Alton Ray officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8PM Wednesday, May 23rd at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.
He was born in Trickham, Texas (Coleman Co.) on August 30, 1928 to William Abraham and Lillian Lorena (Reynolds) Wells. He was a long time resident of McLennan Co. and China Spring. Mr. Wells served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict before relocating to the Waco area. He worked for Bird Kultgen Ford before opening his own business W-T Auto Sales in Waco. After 26 years in the auto business, Mr. Wells retired, later opening Bar W Saddle & Tack in China Spring. He was an avid hunter and horseman, enjoying rodeo and team roping throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Dennis Wayne Wells and Ronnie Lee Wells; brothers, Art, Mike, W.O. (Dub) and Billy Wells; and sisters, Lillie Lorene Amos, Willie Elizabeth Howard and Louse Lizana.
He is survived by this loving companion and life partner “Lois”.; a sister, Mrs. Leona Lee Bolen and husband Jerry of May, TX; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Wells of Colorado; step daughters, Debora McMillan and husband Clayton of China Spring, and Donna Stone and husband Chris of Valley Mills, granddaughters, Phebe Ann Ratliff and husband Evan of Germany, and Brandy Burt and husband Jamie of Valley Mills; grandsons, Bobby McClain and fiancé Stephanie of Valley Mills, Brad Romine and wife Lacey of Axtell, Scott Romine and wife Ashley of Axtell, and Brent McClain and fiancé Kayla of Valley Mills; ten great grandchildren, Dabney, Isabel, Kaylee, Rylee, Cooper, Baylee, Conner, Lanie, Jesse and Rodee; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephew Jerry Wells of Hubbard.
