Ronald Everett Watts, 68, of Waco, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ronnie was born in Gatesville, Texas, to Nell and Everett Watts. Most of his school years were spent at La Vega, but he graduated from University High School. On Aug. 19, 1955, he married Jane McGowan. He then followed his Dad into the sheet metal trade for 25 years. Early retirement gave him plenty of time for his favorite sport – Texas Hold ‘Em.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nell Watts.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Jane Watts; father and step-mother, Everett and Helen Watts; sister, Angie Averhoff; brother, Brian “Rocky” Watts; and last but not least, 47 beloved nieces and nephews. Ronnie was a father figure to some of them, but to Katlyn, Chance, and Thomas he was “Grandpa Ronnie.”
