Jesse R. Toten, 92, of Waco, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at his residence.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Pastor Mark Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at the China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Toten was born Nov. 29, 1911, in Bosque County to William Green and Mary Lillie Arnold Toten. He attended school in China Spring. He married Suddie B. Croford March 10, 1934, in Hill County. She preceded him in death June 7, 1995. He worked as a farmer most of his life and also was a greenskeeper at Lake Waco Golf and Country Club for 15 years until his retirement.

Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Kroll and husband Leslie of Waco, Rose Richter and husband Herschel of Elm Mott, Neil Sandhoff and husband Bill of Waco, and Joyce Freyer and husband Doug of Waco; son, Wesley Toten and wife, Ginger of Waco and Bob Toten and Faye, also of Waco. He also leaves 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Taylor, Rodney Ludwig, Joe McNamara, George Lowe, Olin Scoonover and Billy Nightingale.

Memorials will be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice or the Cowboy Church Building Fund.
