Mary L. Summers of Axtell, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009. Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday, June 14, at Brazos Funeral Home with Chaplain Jaime McGlothlin officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Brazos Funeral Home.

Mary Leanna was born in Rockport, Ill., to the late Joseph H. Mulkins and Lulu M. (Durrall) Mulkins. She married Bill Summers on July 16, 1960. They farmed and owned many businesses in Laddonia, Mo. They moved to Texas on Oct. 31, 1973. Mary enjoyed long walks, vacationing and spending time with their family and friends. She was an exquisite lady and was the life of every room she entered. She was a very strong, caring, and lovely lady in every sense of the word. She loved her children and grandchildren and cherished her great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Frankie Joe Dominguez Sr.; a granddaughter, Tessa M. Summers; and a brother.

She is survived by her daughter, Christina Dominguez, of Axtell; son, Patrick Summers and wife, Janita, of Whitney; seven grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Roman Dominguez and Dustin Wilson; and one brother.
