Richard W. (Dick) Stromberg of China Spring, a retired food technologist, died Sunday at a local hospital.  He was 76.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Waco, the Rev. Jim Johnson officiating.  Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Stromberg was born July 23, 1918 in Green Bay, Wis.  He graduated from the  University of Wisconsin in Madison and served in the U. S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II.  He moved to Chicago, where he married Lois Zahn in 1948.  He worked as a food technologist and was associated with the White Cap Co., the Illinois Institue of Technology and Centra Soya.  He moved to New Jersy in 1968 and worked for Foster D. Snell until retiring as a muncipal health inspector in 1981.  He moved to China Spring in 1982 and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Waco.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Carol L. Smith of Natural Bridge, Va., Julie A. Poccia of Newton, N. J., Sarah R. Hayward of Washington, N. J., and Sandra J. Hayward of China Spring; two sons, Mark J. Stromberg of Owego, N.Y., and Richard Wesley Stromberg III of Stanhope, N.J.; one sister, Joan Widmann of Neenah, Wis.; and eight grandchildren.

The family will recieve visitors from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home.
