Funeral services for P. D. Smith, 77, who died suddenly at his home near China Spring at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, were held Wednesday at 4 p.m. from the residence, Dr. Arthur Stout officiating, burial in China Spring cemetery.   Compton’s in charge.  Active pallbearers were Tom Mabray of Waco, and George Talbert, Dee Conger, Bill Higginbotham, Will McLennan and Jim Eighelberger, all of China Spring.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, I. B. Smith of China Spring and Allison Smith of Temple; three daughters, Mrs. Cullen Crew of San Marcos, Mrs. William Hubbard of San Antonio, Mrs. E. L. Wallis of Waco; a brother, Warren Smith of Cameron.
