June Marie Burt Smith of China Spring passed away February 12, 1999 at Providence Hospital.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chape, the Rev. James Densman officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born June 27, 1928 to C.A. and Charlcie Talbert Burt of Erath, Texas. She grew up in the Erath and China Spring communities. She was 1948 graduate of Waco High School. She and Fred Smith of Bosqueville were married June 16, 1951. Mrs. Smith worked for the Santa Fe Railroad at Rio Vista and at the Veteran’s Administration in Waco from 1943-1956. She was a local realtor for the past 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Eugene Burt, and a granddaughter, Mallory Carlile.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Smith; son, Larry Smith and wife Brenda of China Spring; daughter, Mrs. Kay Carlile and husband William C. of China Spring; three brothers, Charles T. Burt, T. J. Burt and H. A. Burt, all of China Spring; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Garrett of Waco and Mrs. Sue Littlepage of Biloxi, Miss., four grandchildren, Melinda, Justin and Trey Smith and Lauren Carlile.

Pallbearers will be Brian Burt, Joe C. Burt, Boddy Etheridge, Greg Taggard, Tim Talbert and Chesley Smith Jr.
