Funeral services for Beverly C. Smith, 76, of 1815 Connor will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Wilkirson and Hatch Chapel with Rev. Gary L. Hearson officiating.  Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died at  2:30 p.m. Wednesday in an Austin hospital.

Mr. Smith was born and reared at China Spring, and served in World War I.

He worked for the Burlington railroad before his retirement about 12 years ago.

He had lived in Denver, Colo. before his retirement, then returning to Waco.

Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. W. A. (Maud) Patterson of China Spring, Mrs. S. W. (Nettie) Jay of 2518 North Twenty-first, Mrs. R. W. (Callie) Rolison of 2111 Lyle and Mrs. W. L. (Anice) Jenkins of 2114 Mitchell; three brothers, A. D. Smith of 3125 North Nineteenth, Clyde N. Smith of 3113 Edmond and Otis Smith of 1815 Connor; and several nieces and nephews.
