Alonzo Jackson Smith, 80, of 1712 North Seventh Street died at 7 a.m. Wednesday in a local hospital.

Funeral services were held 2:30 Thursday in Connally Chapel, Mr. Edwin Shaw officiating with burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Survivors: His wife, Mamie Smith of Waco, four daughters, Mrs. C. C. Callaway of Brownfield, Mrs. Lloyd Burns of Copperas Cove, Mrs. Dewey Harcrow of Midland, Mrs. L. O. Crowder of Route 3, Waco; four sons, J. M. Smith of Vidor, Lloyd Smith of Fort Worth, Floyd Smith, E. G. Smith of 2400 Flint; two brothers, Shelby Smith of Fort Worth, Charlie Smith of Portales, N.M.; two sisters, Mrs. R. H. Kenney of Portales, N.M. and Mrs. Floyd Holmes of  New Mexico; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
