Richard (Sam) Shakespeare, 71, of 3605 Homan died 12:35 a.m. Sunday in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Connally-Compton Downtown Chapel.  Rev. Everett Cox officiating, burial in China Spring cemetery.

Survivors:  His wife, Lillie Shakespeare, one brother, H. C. Shakespeare of Abilene; two nephews, five nieces.

Active pallbearers: Eddie Parsons, Richard Ferguson, Paul Ferguson, Doyle Cross, Joe Ferguson. and Keith Ferguson.
