Mrs. Ima Dell Roberts died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at a local nursing home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Roland Timberlake presiding. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts will lie in state at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors all day Friday.

Mrs. Roberts was born March 3, 1921, in Mooresville, to Ed and Viola Mattie Beard Markum. She graduated from Lott High School in 1939, and lived in Waco most of her life. She married Jess Roberts March 13, 1958. Ima was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and long time member of St. Paul’s. She was an avid animal lover with her daily routine consisting of feeding and watering her many cats, dogs and birds. All animals were her friends. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an excellent gardener.

Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, John David Adkins.

Surviving Mrs. Roberts are her husband, Jess Roberts of Waco; two daughters, Tanya Plemmons of Waco, and Pamela Harris of New York; brother, Will Ed Markum of Waco; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
