Dallas Gilbert Prause of Valley Mills, an attorney, died Thursday at a local hospital.  He was 70.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at China Spring Cemetery, the Rev. Lester Bell officiating.

Mr. Prause was born August 6, 1921 in Bosque County, and attended schools in China Spring and Waco.  he was a 1950 law graduate of the University of Texas.  In 1964, he retired from the U. S. Department of the Interior, Headquarters Pentagon in Washington, D. C. and moved to Waco from Salt Lake City, Utah.

Mr. Prause was and army veteran of World War II, when he served in the Aleutian Islands.  He also was a veteran of the Merchant Marines and a member of the Wortham Bend Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. J. L. Prause of Valley Mills; four sisters, Mavis O. Reible of Valley Mills, Naida G. Yarbrough of Waco, Vera Alvena Pocock of China Spring and Gloria J. Helleson of Waco; and four brothers, Danny D. Prause  and Sammy N. Prause, both of Valley Mills, David C. Prause of China Spring and James L. Prause of Aquilla.
