Lawrence H. Pierce, 84, of China Spring died Wednesday afternoon in a Waco rest home.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in China Spring, Rev. Hoyt Hunnicutt officiating.  Burial was in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Pierce was a retired mechanic and had lived in China Spring 70 years.

Survivors include two sons, Cliff Pierce and J. W. Pierce of Waco; four sisters, Mrs. Mertice Kruger of Florida, Mrs. Irene Talbert of China Spring, Mrs. Zoe Copeland of Waco and Mrs. Faye Brooks of Whitney; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
