Billie Ruth Peavy, 80, passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery.
A reception and fellowship for family and friends will follow the burial service at Lake Shore Funeral Home’s Reception Center. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco.
Billie was born in Lubbock, Texas, to the late Charlie and Lydia (Curd) Jennings. She married Bill Peavy in 1971. She was an owner and operated the Rockin’ L Restaurant in Mexia for several years. She was a housewife, a businesswoman, a farmer’s wife, a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a surrogate mom to many over her life-time.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Peavy; brothers, Jack Jennings, J.C. Jennings, J.B. Jennings, and “Red” Jennings; and sister, Bobbie Middleton.
Survivors include her sons, Raymond James Alexander, of Rockwall, and David Alexander and John Partida, of Mexia; grandson, Jason Alexander and his wife, Jeannie, of Rockwall; great-granddaughters, Danilyn and Maya, of Rockwall; brother, Larry Jennings, of Lake Richland Chambers; and sisters, Nina Parks, of Corsicana, and Charlsie Lassetter, of Bosqueville; and many other family members and friends.
