Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Payne, 77, who died at her home, 1606 North Sixth Street, at 6 p.m. Wednesday will be held from the China Spring Methodist Church Friday morning at 9 o’clock. Rev. S. W. Williams officiating, interment in China Spring Cemetery. Compton’s in charge.
Pallbearers will be C. L. Forrest, Leon Willis, Allen Huehn, W. T. Abney, W. T. Payne and George Payne.
Surviving are three sons; J. W. of Dallas, Will of Axtell, Oscar of China Spring; seven daughters, Misses Mary, Kay and Birdie Payne, all of Waco, Mrs. Georgia Forrest, Mrs. Lizzie Abney, Mrs. Effie Willis also of Waco, and Mrs. Della Huehn of San Angelo; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Wood of Dallas, Mrs. Rosie Pickett of Celeste and Mrs. Van Inabinet of Greenville; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Payne was born in Paducah, Kentucky and came to Texas at the age of 9, and settled in China Spring where she resided until 1929, when she moved to Waco.
