Jesse “Dub” William Osteen Sr., 57, passed away Monday, July 16, 2001.  Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at China Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Kyle Reese officiating.

Mr. Osteen was born March 16, 1943, in Waco, the son of Jesse Horace Osteen and Rachel Wright Osteen.  He was a carpenter and a good poker player.  He served in the U.S. Marines serving a tour of duty in Vietnam.  He lived most of his life in China Spring and was a Baptist.

He is survivied by two daughters, Betty Ammons of Stanton, Tenn. and Jessica Osteen of Memphis, Tenn.; on son, Jesse William Osteen, Jr. of  Collierville, Tenn.; brother, Ira Spence of Valley Mills; five sisters, Ruby Keys of Bosqueville, Eura Young and Betty Ruth White both of Fort Worth, Jimmie Harrell of Bosqueville and Katherine Burtchell of Rosenthal; seven grandchildren.
