Archie Osteen,  61, died at 12.45 a.m. Monday at his residence in China Spring.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at China Spring Baptist Church.  The body will lay in state at the church one hour before services with Rev. Don Richie and Rev. Roy L. Smith officiating, burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Survivors: His widow, one daughter, Mrs. O. R. Harvey of China Spring; two brothers, Ira and Jess Osteen, both of Waco, two sisters, Mrs. H. W.  Webb of Waco, Mrs. Roxie Hicks of Waco; 2 grandchildren.

Active pallbearers, J. B. Lindsey, R. O. Garrett, S. M. Tolbert, J. J. Tolbert Jr., J. D. Harvey and H. L. Turnace.

He was chairman of the board of deacons at China Spring Baptist Church, and was employed by the county commissioners as bridge foreman in that district.
