Doris Jean Nyander, age 78, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 15, at the Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Briggs officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.

Doris was born March 21, 1938 in Hillsboro, Texas, the daughter of Lon Pearson and Sudie (Honeycutt) Barnett. She married Walter Nyander on July 10, 1976.She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Walling; brother, Lonnie Barnett.

Doris is survived by her husband, Walter Nyander of Robinson, and their children and spouses, Joe and Pam Pope of China Spring, Wade and Rae Pope of Axtell, Chris Pope of Marlin, Tim and Sandra Pope of China Spring, David Nyander of Mart, and Debra (Sherry) Weber of Austin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewey and Josephine Barnett of Robinson, Sammy and Amy Barnett of Robinson, and Don Elkins of Rowlett; sister, Donna Colyer of Waco; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
