Celebration of life service: 10:00 am, Saturday, February 17, 2018 in the chapel at First United Methodist Church in Waco followed by a private burial.
Meredith was born June 28, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Ralph and Lena Stanard. She was a successful student and graduated with honors from Wilson High School. During her time in High School she dated James (Jimmy) Novak. The two went their separate ways but reunited in 1992. After a brief engagement the two were married in August 1993 and Meredith moved to Jimmy’s home in Aurora, Colorado. Unfortunately this union was all to brief. After seven years, Jimmy passed away and Meredith returned to her family in Waco Tx.
Meredith was previously married to Nuel Brown and together they raised their only daughter Linda Brown.
During her years in Waco, Meredith worked at Word Inc., Central Christian Church, Cox’s Department store, and Randy Riggs, CPA. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church Waco for many years. In retirement, when not busy volunteering at the church or Meals on Wheels, she focused her care, time and attention to her family. Meredith loved the Lord with her whole heart and found great joy and peace in His presence.
Meredith is preceded in her death by her husband, Jimmy Novak as well as her mother, father, and sister Marilyn.
She leaves behind a loving family: daughter, Linda Brown and Danny Gibson of Axtell; granddaughter, Tiffany Brown and husband Bruce of Waco and daughter Haley; grandson, Raymond Pawvlik, Jr. (Scooter) and wife Chasity of Savannah, GA and children, Beaux, Wade, Colby, Katelynn, and Cacee; nephews, Chris Frederickson of Cedar Rapids, IA and Roger Barnhill and wife Deanna of Leesburg, FL; cousins, Melvin and David Stanard and many other nieces and nephews.
