E. S. Long, 78, of China Spring rancher and farmer, died Thursday at a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at China Spring Cemetery, the Rev. Charles Wilson officiating.

Mr. Long was born Sept. 11, 1911 in Lohn and attended Fife schools. He was a World War II Army veteran who served in the South Pacific theater. He married Rilla Stanford in 1944 and moved to China Spring in 1965. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8564.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Belenda Ockels of Waco; three sons, Robert H. Long of Austin, Darrel D. Long of Rogers and Tommy A. Long of China Spring; two sisters, Mrs. Arlene Millsap of Meridian and Mrs. Jewel Taylor of San Angelo; and three grandchildren.
