Keith Kinlaw was born October 27, 1947 in Lumberton, NC to Wilbur and Mary Wright Kinlaw. He graduated in 1965 from Robinson High School. Prior to college, Keith worked on the Katy Railroad. In 1970, he graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He had a 35 year career in engineering, retiring in 2009.

Keith was an avid fisherman and especially loved to fish with family and friends. He was also actively involved in several bass clubs. He was a Past Master Mason and was a member of local Masonic Lodge #92.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Hilda Angland.
