Mary Crow Kennedy, 81, of Waco, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2000, at her residence. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at China Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Cavanaugh officiating. The family will receive visitors form 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at BrookView Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kennedy was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Godley, Texas. Her parents were the late Rev. and Mrs. Ben S. Crow. The Rev. Crow was a Methodist Circuit Rider, Mrs. Kennedy had lived in Waco since Jan. 1929. She is a graduate of Waco High School and Baylor University. She was a teacher at the China Spring School, Moody School and the Waco Public Schools. She was a public school librarian the last 20 years of her employment. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of the Waco Classroom Teachers Association, Texas State Teachers Association, National Educators Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, and was a life time member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church, a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and the Mary Milam Garden Club. Mrs. Kennedy married Lynn Lyle Kennedy Jr. Dec. 19, 1942.
Survivors include her husband Lynn Kennedy III; a grandson, David Kennedy ; sisters, Alta Jones and Alzada Clark; four brothers, Dr. Howard Crow, William Crow, Hubert Crow, and Dr. Porter Crow.
