H. B. Jay, 92, of Speegleville passed away on Friday, November 12, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Jay was born to H.O. and Linnie Breedlove Jay June 24, 1924 on the family farm in China Spring.  In 1955 he married the love of his life,  Jo Ann Harcrow. Mr. Jay worked for K-Mart until his retirement in 1989. After retiring, H.B. and JoAnn along with some friends formed a band, The Antique Pickers who spent many hours jamming together and playing for the residents of local nursing homes. He was an avid reader and a self-taught musician, playing more than five instruments.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Joann Harcrow Jay in 2004, a daughter, Beverly Ann Cook in 2011,  and grandson Michael Cook.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Yglecias of Speegleville, Carla Hines and her husband John of Crawford, and Rita Gaddis of Dallas; two sons, Ricky Jay and wife Vicky of Cleburne and Ty Jay and partner, Traci, of Laguna Park; his brother, Wayne Jay and wife Barbara of Robinson; son in law, Mike Cook of Waco; sister-in-law, Mary Cotharn; grandchildren, Tammy Johnson Barrack, Joey A. Yglecias, Ashley Cook, and Macy Yglecias, Lisa Willingham and Clinton Kuykendall; and great grandchildren, Stephen, Angel, Anthony, Lexi, Adelyn and Logan; and longtime family friends, L.B. and Willie Dean Moore.
