W. G. (Cotton) Ivy, 77, of China Spring, died Thursday, October 28, 1999 at a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday at BrookView Funeral Home. Burial to follow at China Spring Cemetery.

Cotton was born on March 23, 1922 in Whitney. He was reared in Bosqueville before moving to China Spring. He married Esther Buro on February 22, 1945. He was a farmer in the China Spring area all his life. He loved trolling for yellow cats and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Esther; two daughters, Dathy Ivy Haferkamp and Nancy Ivy Greathouse; son, Freddy Wayne Ivy; sister, Maurine Kemp; three grandchildren, Billy Haferkamp, Korrie Ivy and John Ivy; and a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Ivy.
