Linda Ruth Lamb Heine, 71, of Hubbard, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Visitation at Wade Funeral Home and memorial graveside services at China Spring Cemetery are pending at this time.

Linda Ruth Lamb Heine was born to Mary Dell Ringer Lamb and George Merrill Lamb on July 21, 1950. She grew up with her brother Douglas Lamb in Austin, Texas where she made many lifelong friends. She was always known to have a sparkle in her eye and a quick wit. Those who knew her well were drawn to her by her sincere thoughts and love which she offered freely.

As a child, Linda thought of her childhood as one of the happiest times of her life. Her dad worked out of town during the week and often “toted” her to every lesson available. Linda also took piano lessons on her own piano. She grew very close to her mother, Mary, and felt a deep sense of loss when she lost her mother at the age of 18.

In 1972, Linda married her husband of 49 years, Virgil R. Heine, and with him had 3 children, Lara, Lyssa, and Stephen. She considered being a mom one of her greatest achievements. After working for many state agencies, in 1978, she and Virgil moved to Del Valle, Texas where they raised their children and Linda worked the dual job of mother and “Avon lady.” Linda’s Avon career became a place where her family and friends worked together and enjoyed each other’s company. They unpacked numerous Avon boxes full of products, books, and bags that were to be delivered that week. It was the rhythm of the family every two weeks: unpack, sort, bag, stamp books, throw books and deliver products. Her time spent visiting the people in Del Valle and developing friendships was one of her best attributes. Almost daily, Linda was driving her ’85 Red Chevrolet Silverado Stepside to her friends’ houses, ringing her distinctive horn as she arrived, and providing people with company, friendship, and cosmetics. She spent many hours visiting with friends who became family over coffee, Avon demos and samples, and sharing stories that became a part of her story too. Linda valued quality time with her family, bringing her kids along with her on her deliveries, and her travels across Del Valle to her friends became a weekly staple to her family schedule.

In 2008, with grown kids, Linda and Virgil set out to find the place where they would build their dream house. They took weekend and day-long trips to the country towns in the Central Texas area. After several trips and considering a location close to Linda’s family in Hillsboro and China Springs, they settled on Hubbard, Texas. In Hubbard, they found their ideal plot of land on which to build their home. Linda became a secretary at the First United Methodist Church in Hubbard until her retirement a few years later.

Linda has been preceded in death by her grandmother, Ella Hannah Wortham Ringer of China Springs, her Aunt Mabel Polzin and Uncle Al Polzin, her mother, Mary Dell Ringer Lamb and father, George Merrill Lamb, of Austin; her uncle, Stephen Lee Ringer; her brother, Douglas Wayne Lamb.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Virgil R. Heine, (deceased 2022) of Hubbard; her daughters, Lara B. Heine and Lyssa D. Heine, of Austin; her son, Stephen L. Heine, of Austin, and his two children, Linda’s grandchildren, Rachel Heine and Brandon Heine, as well as numerous friends who became family.
