Ray Eskew, 76, of China Spring, passed away at his home on November 11, 2015. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, in the China Spring Cemetery.

Ray was born in Mart, Texas, to the late Eugene and Elmer Jane (Hadley) Eskew. He was formerly a long time resident of Valley Mills.

Ray loved to dance to country and western music. He met and fell in love with Alice, his future wife of 49 years, at the Circle R Club in Waco after he asked her to dance. They married two months later.

Ray was the owner of Ray’s Auto Sales for many years. His love of cars led him to dirt track racing which became one of his favorite past times. He enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos, and all motorsports.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Eskew Thiele; brothers, Joe and Sammy Eskew; and sisters, Betty Jean Simpson and Jeanette Pavlovsky.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; sons, Kevin Eskew and wife, Bambi, and James Eskew and wife, Rebecca, all of China Spring; grandchildren: Wesley, Derek and Kris Thiele, -Dustin, Lindsey, Colton and Lyla Eskew; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
