Daughter of Robert Neblett Davis, Sr and Mattie Frances Feagin Davis. Her mother died in 1908 and she was raised by her father and step-mother, Ruby Etta Whatley Davis.

Frances Roberta Davis, 96, of Waco, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, at China Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Grant and Chaplain Guadalupe Rodriguez officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd.
Miss Davis was born Oct. 21, 1904, in Kaufman, where she graduated from high school in 1923. She received her bachelor’s degree from East Texas State Teachers College. Miss Davis enlisted in the Army in 1944 and served overseas in the South Pacific during WWII. She received her master’s degree from North Texas State College after her discharge from the Army. She taught in Grand Prairie Schools until 1967. Miss Davis was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 2148 and a member of Rebecca Lodge and China Spring United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Feagin Davis; father, Robert N. Davis Sr.; brother, C. W. Wiley; and sister, Virgie Matthews.
Survivors include her brother, R. N. Davis; and nieces Mary D. Schumann of Woodway and Lisa Davis of Denver, Colo.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, Dr. J. R. Matthews, Charles Davis, Dr. Dennis Davis, Wiley Davis, Jr., Stanley Davis and Jim Schumann.
