On Saturday, Oct. 7, 1998, on son, friend and brother Andy chose to travel home to heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, leaving his earthly home in China Spring while surrounded by his family and friends.
Services for Patrick Andrew “Andy” Carey II will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 at First Baptist Church in China Spring with the Rev. Duane Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today a the funeral home.
Andy, 15, was sophomore at China Spring High School, having attended China Spring School since kindergarten.
Andy was born July 19, 1983, in Waxahachie and lived in Texas all of his earthly life.
Andy was an excellent paint ball player and partner. Andy love his trombone music and the China Spring school bands. He loved reading and was an enthusiastic Star Wars collector and greatly enjoyed time spent with his brother, Luke, and friends in China Spring and special friends made in Bigfork, Mont.
Most of all, Andy loved his Lord Jesus Christ, and held a deep commitment to God. He recently was attending Harvest House of Prayer. During Andy’s 20-month battle, Andy kept the faith.
Andy leaves behind his father and mother, Patrick and Cindy Carey Sr. of China Spring; a brother, Christopher Luke Carey of China Spring; his grandparents, Donna Carey of China Spring and Jerry and Kay Thompson of Red Oak, Texas; his great-grandparents, Julian and Francis Hodges of Lorena; and family and friends too numerous to mention.
