Mrs. H. D. (Ada) Barry died January 26, 2000 at Westview Nursing Home in McGregor.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at China Spring Cemetery, with the Rev. Matt Hall officiating.
Mrs. Barry lived in the Bosqueville area for many years before going to the nursing home in 1995. She was born April 22, 1905 in Savannah, Tennessee to J. W. and Myrtle Morris. Her family moved to the Red River County in northeast Texas when she was nine years old.
She married Hardy Dawson Barry in 1925 in Clarksville, Texas. They later moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1938 and moved to Waco in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Mrs. Barry was a member of Herring Avenue United Methodist Church and The Juel Conway Class. Before going to the nursing home, her hobby was piecing quilts.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Haddock of Lorena; son, James Hardy Barry of Austin; two grandchildren, Denise Barnes and James Hardy Barry, Jr. of Austin; two great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Abernathy Thigpen of Horseshoe Bay; and several nieces and nephews.
