John A. Burt, 69, of Waco died Friday night in a local hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Wilkirson and Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Vanderford officiating, burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Burt was reared in China Spring and attended China Spring schools. He farmed until World War II during which he served in Europe.

He worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital from 1946 until he retired in 1972. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, John L. Burt and Joe C. Burt, both of Valley Mills; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Londenberg of Houston, Mrs. Juanita McBride of Granada Hills, California, and Mrs. Mabel Staggs of El Centro, California; three brothers, B. B. Burt and O. J. Burt, both of Waco and C. A. Burt of China Spring.; and two grandchildren.
