Mrs. Mary Allie Madewell, 78, of China Spring died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday in a Waco hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the China Spring Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Smith officiated and burial was in China Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Madewell was born March 21, 1884, in Alabama. She had lived in the China Spring Community since 1928. She was a member of China Spring Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, H.C. Madewell; three daughter, Mrs. Robert Ueckert of Waco, Mrs. Charlie Bentwell of Valley Mills and Mrs. Hollis Cunningham of Waco; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Robertson of Rock Creek and Mrs. R.B. Baker of China Spring; two brothers, H.A. McCrary of Waco and Jess McCrary of Gholson; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
