Lois Estellin Koenig, 85, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Jan 5, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. A visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 4, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.

Lois was born in Itasca, Texas, to the late Luther L. and Geneva Irby Mitchell. She lived her life in Waco and enjoyed spending time with her family. She worked several years as a home health nurse and later retired. Cooking was one of her most enjoyable interest. She will be missed dearly.

Lois was preceded in death by a son, Mark Payne; Scott Payne, Faye Harill, and Richard Koenig.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Robert Payne, of Bryan, William Keith Payne, of California, and Kerry Koenig, of Washington; daughters, Lois Elaine Sifford, of Kilgore, and Deborah Hill, of Waco; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters; as well as other relatives and many friends.
