Funeral services for Thomas Jefferson Garrett of Waco were held in Connally Chapel at 4 p.m. today with burial in China Spring Cemetery, Rev. Urban Schulze and Rev. Carl Jones officiated.

Mr. Garrett died in a local hospital Monday morning. He was 81.

Mr. Garrett was a retired farmer. He was born in McLennan County and had lived in Waco for the past 20 years. He was a member of Herring Avenue Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife; son, Stafford Garrett; daughters, Mrs. Frances Maddux and Mrs. Florene Holt; sisters, Mrs. Will Grayson and Mrs. T. C. Morgan; brother, Dan Garrett of Bosqueville; two grandchildren.
