William H. Reid, age 79, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday at his residence, 1805 McFerrin Avenue.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Compton’s Chapel, Rev. Kelly Simmons will officiate and burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.
Survivors: his wife, one daughter, Mrs. W. C. Hewitt of Tyler, four sons, William T. Reid, Virgil G. Reid, Jim B. Raid, Clarence A. (Dusty) Reid, all of Waco; 3 sisters; Mrs. J. F. Compton of Gallion, Ala; Mrs. Bell Cassity of Thomasville, Ala; Mrs. Ella Ethridge of Putman, Ala; 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Reid was born in Thomasville, Ala. He moved to China Spring in 1900. Mr. Reid was a prominent farmer until 1940 when he retired and moved to Waco.
