Evie Bryant Jordan Autrey of China Spring, a homemaker, died Friday at a local nursing home. She was 74.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel in Waco, the Rev. Earl Lanting officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Autrey was born Dec. 22, 1921 in Marlin. She attended schools in Waco and married James Garrett Jordan in 1938. She later married Gene Autrey in 1964; he died in 1984.

She worked for Crawford-Austin for 34 years before retiring in 1987. She was a member of First Baptist Church in China Spring and was preceded in death by her grandson, H. L. Springer and a granddaughter, Lisa Rene Steele.

Survivors include two daughters, Bettye Springer of China Spring and Linda Moore of Austin; a son, James Glenn Jordan of Austin; a sister, Bettye Watkins of Duncanville; a brother, Herschel Bryant of Anchorage, Alaska; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
