Mrs. Will (Mattie M) Davis of China Spring died at 3:35 p.m. Monday in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the China Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Paul G. Smith officiating.  Burial will be in the China Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis was born at Bosqueville on March 3, 1881.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.  John Moore.  She married Will Davis in June 1905 in Bosqueville.  She lived in Erath, Waco and China Spring.  Davis was in the grocery business in China Spring for about 35 years before his death in 1959.

She was a member of the China Spring Baptist church.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Halbert E. Davis of San Antonio, a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Elliot W. Davis of 4416 Athens; two sisters, Mrs. Elba Twitty and Mrs. Doris Minor, both of Lubbock, and two great-grandchildren.
