William Tevis Stegall, 98, of Meridian died Friday at a Meridian nursing home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Foss Funeral Home Chapel in Valley Mills, the Rev. Lee Layman officiating. Burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Stegall was born April 16, 1890, in Tennessee. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Lula Bell Stegall of Meridian; two sons, Raleigh Stegall of California and John Stegall of Seguin; six daughters, Margaret Kluetz of El Paso, Louise Honea of Clifton, Sue Gresham of Grand Prairie, Betty Marshall of Hewit, Frances Cooper of Waco and Patricia Coca of Albuquerque, NM; 34 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren;and several great-great-grandchildren.
