Perry Franklin Cockrell, 87, of 1717 Clark, died at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Connally Chapel, Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial will be in China Springs Cemetery.
Survivors: five daughters: Mrs. Lena Gregory of 1719 Clark Street, Mrs. Leda (Fleda) Bradbury of Tokio, Mrs. Letha McGee of Los Gotas, CA; two sons: Thomas Cockrell of 3804 N. 20th and Douglas Cockrell of Rt. 1, Aquilla; 33 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great, great, great grandchild.
Perry Franklin Cockrell, 87 of Waco was pronounced dead at Providence Hospital just after 9 a.m. Thursday.
Justice of the Peace Joe Johnson ruled that Cockrell died of self-inflicted razor blade wounds of the neck.
Police patrolman, Donald Williams said a daughter of Cockrell, Mrs. Lena Gregory, told him she found her father lying in a pool of blood on his front porch about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Williams said he found a double edged razor blade nearby.
She reported that she had visited her father at his home about 8 a.m. Thursday, left and was returning when her father came to the porch and fell.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Connally Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Smith officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.
