Mrs. W.T. (Lula Bell) Stegall, 91, of Waco, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Connally-Compton West Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Lee Layman and the Rev. Claus Rholfs, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Stegall was born Oct. 12, 1902, in Concan, which is in Uvalde county. At the age of 18, she began teaching school with her father in Uvalde County. Mrs. Stegall married William T. Stegall on Oct. 6, 1919. He died Jan. 27, 1989.

Mrs. Stegall was a longtime Waco resident. She was a Sunday school teacher at Brook Avenue Baptist Church and also served as superintendent of Sunday School. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church and also a member of Calvary Chapel Baptist Church of Lakeside Village.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, William Tivis Stegall, Jr., Charlie Roy Stegall and William Howard Stegall; brother, Roy L. Smith; three sisters, Sybil Hutchinson, Mae James and Ola Hudgins.

Survivors include two sons, Raleigh Allan Stegall of Fresno, Calif., and John R. Stegall of Wimberly; six daughters, Margaret L. Kluetz of El Paso, Louise Honea of Clifton, Sue Gresham of Grand Prairie, Betty Marshall of Hewitt, Frances Cooper of Robinson, and Patricia Coca of Albuquerque, NM.; 29 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
