James Franklin Stanford, 79, of Waco died Friday at a local hospital.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Foss Funeral Home Chapel in Valley Mills, the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating.  Burial will be at China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Stanford was born April 3, 1916, in Alabama.  He was married to Mildred Sanders on June 17, 1940, in Valley Mills.

He had lived in the Waco area since 1979, moving from Wichita Kan.  He was a retired building contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Stanford; stepmother, Faye Stanford of China Spring; a brother, Jeff Stanford of Temple; and five sisters, Mildred  Ohio, Ruth Necker of Columbus, Aileen Lumpkin and Wilda Hurst, both of Waco, and Jeanette Bone of Hillsboro.
