Ezekiel Kirby Smith, 52, of Dallas, formerly of China Spring, died Friday afternoon in a Dallas hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Wilkirson Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Doyle Lawless officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was a China Spring native and attended schools there. He was a World War II veteran and worked for John S. Beasley Construction Co. in Dallas, operating heavy machines. He was a Methodist and a member of John Armstrong Lodge No. 291, AF & AM.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Wheeler L. Smith of China Spring, two daughter, Mrs. Jerry Warnick of Lewisville and Mrs. Curtis Norman of Dallas; two sons, Joe Kirby Smith of Houston and Robert Smith of Dallas; four sisters, Mrs. W. A. Walker of Refugio, Mrs. Kay Elliott of Waco, and Miss Sue Smith and Mrs. Floyd Dekle, both of China Spring; and three grandchildren.
