Garth W. Robinson, Sr., 72, the founder of the Cedar Brake Trail Ride, of China Spring died Thursday at a local hospital.  He  grew up and attended school in Olney and attended 4-C College in Waco.  He married Juanita Smith Oct. 9, 1937, in Wichita Falls.   Mr. Robinson  worked for General Tire for 21 years and retired in 1969.  He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of John Armstrong Masonic Lodge 291 in Valley Mills.  He was a member of China Spring United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Juanajean) Pederson of Nederland; a son, Garth W. (Bill) Robinson Jr. of Kerrville; two sisters, Mrs. John (Peggy) Pruitt of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Floyd (Toni) Bowman of Opelika, Ala.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family has designated China Spring Methodist Church or China Spring Volunteer Fire Department for memorials.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at China Spring Cemetery, the Rev. Norman Suggs officiating.

Mr. Robinson was born Oct. 27, 1917, Bedias and lived in Waco for more than 40 years.
