Albert Richard Rains of Waco passed away Saturday, July 24 at a local hospital.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27 at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Van Balleu officiating.  Burial at China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Raines was born Dec. 20, 1920 in Smith Bend, Texas.  He was employed at James Connally Air Force Base and later worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center where he retired in 1985 after 25 years.

Mr. Raines was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Charlene Raines; a sister; and three brothers.

Survivors include his daughter Cathy Lynn Vrba and her husband Eric Vrba of Waco; son, Danny Richard Raines and his wife Brenda Raines of Waco; sister, Opal Holmes of Waco, brother, Donnie Raines of Waco; four grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 26, at the funeral home.
