C. H. (Cliff) Pierce, 64, of China Spring died Sunday in a local hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in China Spring Baptist Church, Rev. Hoyt Hunnicutt officiating. Burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Pierce was born near China Spring and attended school in the community. He also attended Four-C Business College in Waco. He worked for Gulf Oil Co. for 23 years and for Shell Oil Co. from 1968 until retiring in 1977. He was a deacon and Sunday teacher in China Spring Baptist Church. He married Margaret Grayson in 1935.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Shirley) Grube of China Spring; a brother, Jake Pierce of China Spring; and two granddaughters, Betty Jane Grube and Laura Grube, both of China Spring.
