Funeral services for George Meadows, 51 year old former policeman, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Wilkirson-Hatch Chapel, Dr. D. L. McCree officiating, burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Meadows served as a radio patrol car policeman from 1942-1946 when he resigned to open a garage.  Before joining the police force he operated a bus for the Waco Transit Company.

Meadows lived in Waco and died Friday afternoon after a short illness.

Mr. Meadows was born in China Spring and was a resident of McLennan County all his life. He lived in Waco for the past 25 years. He owned the automobile repair shop at 2924 N. 19th St.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Emma Meadows of Waco; two sons, Jack M. Meadows and Billy R. Meadows, both of Waco; two daughters, Mrs. Billy Oliver of Waco and Mrs. H.M. Nix, Jr. of Beaumont; his mother, Mrs. L. M. Cupp of Waco and three grandchildren.
