Marietta Matkin of Waco, a retired beautician, died Wednesday at a local nursing home. She was 86.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today (January 5, 1996) at China Spring Cemetery, the Rev. Sharlande Sledge officiating.

Mrs. Matkin was born July 25, 1909 in Stamford. She attended school in China Spring and was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. She was in the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and Woodman’s Circle.

She married John S. Matkin, Jr. in 1941, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, former McLennan County Judge Raymond Matkin of Waco and Lt. Col. Don Matkin of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren.
