Judy Pursley Dowdy, 56, of Colleyville, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Odyssey Hospice. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Dr. Steven Mansen officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.

Judy was born in Waco, Texas, to Billy Joe and Othella Pursley. She was an optician at Advantage Optical. Judy was a member of Richfield Christian Church in Waco.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Pursley; step-father, J.D. York and Weldon Linville.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Dowdy, of Colleyville; mother, Othella York, of Waco; brothers, Robert Pursley and wife, Cindy, of China Spring, and Anthony Pursley and wife, Esther, of Waco; sisters, JoAnn Starnes and husband, Keith, of Lumberton, Texas, Nan Castello and husband, Chris, of Austin, and Annette Frazier, of Oregon; and over a dozen very close nieces and nephews.
